AVDJResearchBot

If you've seen AVDJResearchBot in your logs: it is a low-volume tool Austin Ventour uses to read a business's own public website before getting in touch, so any message is relevant.

• It only visits a site when a person asks it to, and reads at most a handful of public pages.
• It obeys robots.txt (including Crawl-delay) and waits several seconds between pages.
• It never logs in, submits forms, solves CAPTCHAs or tries to get around access controls. A 401, 403, 429 or challenge page stops it immediately.
• It keeps business facts and published business contact routes only, with the page they came from.

To block it, add User-agent: AVDJResearchBot / Disallow: / to your robots.txt, or reply to any email from us and we'll add your domain to our do-not-contact list.
